Royal Croquet Club

In Melbourne, as soon as the first day of Spring ticks over we quickly become spoiled with pop-up shops, food festivals, exhibitions and all sorts of hipster-come-everyone type events. This week just so happened to be one of the best with The Royal Croquet Club moving into town for ten days.Perching itself neatly along the Yarra River at Birrarung Marr, the RCC is an open air festival of music, food & wine and of course croquet. Forget sausage sizzles and cans of kirks, the food lineup features some of Melbourne's best restaurants - I'm talking Tokyo Tina, Blue Bonnet Barbeque, Mamasita, Lady Carolina, Ruyi and Gazi (which is serving the most amazing saganaki croquettas). And if it's drinks you're more concerned with, then don't worry because there's plenty of those on offer too. The Pimms bar, Yalumba viewing deck, Captains Tavern and Broadsheet Bar provide more than enough beverage options to keep anyone happy.

So if you're looking for something to do, something very Melbourne, something very now, something very Insta-friendly then get your Sunday best on and get down to the Royal Croquet Club...
